About Me

Hi! My full name is Vasco Nuno da Gama de Jesus Soares, and I was born in Pampilhosa da Serra, Portugal, in 1979.

I have graduated in Informatics Engineering in the Department of Informatics Engineering at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2002.

I received the PhD degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal, in 2012.

During my graduation I worked as a web developer for ECTEP. From 2002 to 2003, I worked as a researcher and as a software developer for Portugal Telecom Inovação, SA.

In September 2003, I joined the Superior School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, Portugal. Since then until the present, I have worked as a teacher. At the present time I am an Assistant Professor in the Technical-Scientific Unit of Informatics. I teach mainly in the area of computer networks.

Since 2004, I am a Cisco Instructor at the Cisco Academy of the Superior School of Technology of Castelo Branco, Portugal.

Since 2008, I am also a Researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, Portugal. I am a member of the research group Next Generation Networks and Applications Group (NetGNA).
